Joni Van der Veen is a highly accomplished triathlete who has had the pleasure of watching her son follow in her footsteps. But the fact that Van der Veen lived to see her son grow up is a story in of itself. As a young mother, she was involved in a horrific skiing accident that nearly ended her life. wonderful, story i compete and have a 21 year old son who also does, it makes you so proud, Joni , Brian must be very proud,

Joni… I have heard you and/or Bryan talk about your story for so many years in bits and pieces, but ive never heard the whole story. Amazing! For the first time, I realized that I actually knew you guys before you ran your first Triathalon in 1985! So proud of you!
