Reed tweeted: “Great news is!! I’m being coached by one of cyclings greats & Olympic Gold medalist @Ty_Hamilton.” Tyler Hamilton tweeted, “It’s official! I will be coaching U.S. Pro Triathlete Matty Reed @boomboomreed! Begin training with Matt later today: motor pacing.”
Hamilton is serving an 8-year ban from cycling after testing positive twice for a banned substance. As a result, message boards have been busy with post from people criticizing and defending Reed.
